Our Co-President on Difficult Conversations

“Difficult conversations are almost never about getting the facts right. They are about conflicting perceptions, interpretations, and values.”

-Douglas Tone

If there is one thing that GlobeMed has taught me it is to never be afraid to participate in difficult conversations or to discuss topics that make you feel uncomfortable. Not engaging in these conversations upholds systems of oppression. Our weekly discussions have allowed me to gain knowledge on many controversial issues, and have inspired me to pursue a career that will address some of the issues that we have discussed.
