Who Are We

The Student Health Equity Forum (SHEF) of Boston College aims to educate students about the world’s leading public health issues and provide them with hands on experience so they can become well-practiced leaders within the field.

Our Three Operative Pillars

Learning as a group through discussion, debates, workshops, case-competitions and conversations with guest speakers.

Engagement by working on a year long project in small groups that addresses public health needs within the greater Boston Area and by fundraising in order to continue donating to our longtime partner, the Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development, in Tamil Nadu, India.

Community by bringing together people to share their experiences and interests and to work towards a common goal.

Est. in Fall 2020, SHEF of Boston College is looking forward to all that is to come this year. For over a decade, we have been partnered with Globemed, a national organization that has chapters at colleges across the country. Due to recent changes within Globemed, we have decided to break away from the organization and establish SHEF, so that we can continue to educate students about public health issues but also have the freedom to expand our club to include partnerships and volunteering.

“The essence of global health equity is the idea that something so precious as health might be viewed as a right.”
